Bangladesh Dominate Netherlands Triumph | Clinch T20 Series Triumph
SYLHET: Bangladesh continued their impressive run in international cricket as spinner Nasum Ahmed delivered a match-winning spell of 3-21, guiding the Tigers to a dominant nine-wicket victory over the Netherlands in the second T20 International on Monday. With this win, Bangladesh sealed the three-match T20 series 2-0 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
The Netherlands, asked to bat first, were bundled out for just 103 runs in 17.3 overs. In reply, Bangladesh chased down the target in only 13.1 overs, highlighting their batting depth and bowling firepower ahead of the T20 Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE.
This victory marked Bangladesh’s third consecutive T20 series win, further boosting their confidence on the road to the Asia Cup and the upcoming T20 World Cup qualifiers.

Bowlers Dominate for Bangladesh
The foundation of the win came from the bowling attack. Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed, brought in as one of two changes, removed two Dutch batters in consecutive deliveries during the third over, setting the tone early.
Dutch skipper Scott Edwards managed only 9 runs before falling to Mustafizur Rahman, while opener Vikramjit Singh scored a brisk 24 off 17 balls before being dismissed by Taskin Ahmed. The Netherlands failed to build momentum, with only Aryan Dutt (30) showing resistance before becoming the final wicket to fall.
Tanzid Hasan Shines with the Bat
Bangladesh’s chase was steady and clinical. Young left-handed opener Tanzid Hasan scored a fluent 54 not out, building a crucial 64-run unbeaten partnership with captain Litton Das (18 not out) after Parvez Hossain Emon contributed 23 runs. Their composed batting ensured Bangladesh cruised home with ease.
What’s Next
The final match of the Bangladesh vs Netherlands T20 series will be played on Wednesday in Sylhet, but the hosts have already clinched the trophy. With their current momentum, Bangladesh look well-prepared for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 starting September 9 in the United Arab Emirates.
